Greetings Legacy,
It is hard for me to believe the year and my time as your Board representative and president is coming to an end. As I look back on this last year, there is a lot we have accomplished. During the annual meeting on November 30th, a PowerPoint presentation was shared highlighting many of the community’s accomplishments. If you were unable to attend, that PowerPoint is linked for your review. Have a look! I hope you are pleased at the progress made.
The success of this past year is due to the phenomenal Board and HOA staff with whom I had the privilege to work alongside. Everyone brought with them a variety of talents and skills. Collectively, they provided thoughtful oversight and representation of the whole community. We didn’t always agree, but in the end, we all recognized it was always about the collective good. Robert, Jodi, Justin, Macy, Randy, and Ivan, thank you for your tireless dedication and picking up my calls both day and night. I am grateful to each of you for your service.
Earlier this month, your new Board positions were decided. Your incoming president is Randy Levinson. Having spent the past year working with Randy on numerous projects, I have full faith in his capabilities and trust he will take on this role with both tenacity and grace. Congratulations, Randy! Mike Rosenberg, newly elected board member, will serve as secretary. I had the privilege of getting to know Mike this past fall and feel confident he will represent the homeowners of Legacy well. We also have a volunteer treasurer, Joshua Elliot. Joshua comes to us as a CPA with a wealth of property management experience. We are excited to have Joshua lend his expertise in this area.
As we ring in the New Year and new Board, let us pause and remember why we chose Legacy as our community. I encourage each of you to attend board meetings and get to know your board members directly. Contrary to what social media would have you believe, they aren’t little grinches. They truly are here for the community and welcome the opportunity to meet new neighbors and discuss the issues of the day. This was one of the biggest highlights of serving on the board for me ~ the opportunity to meet so many of you that I otherwise would not have. And, finally, I ask that you please extend to Randy and the rest of the board the same grace as they work to find their rhythm as you so kindly did for me.
Thank you, Legacy, and Happy New Year!
Michael Papadakis
